Award-winning photographer Alec Soth has curated a special exhibition exclusively for The Photography Show, presented by AIPAD, April 4-7 at Pier 94 in New York. "A Room for Solace: An Exhibition of Domestic Interiors" features more than 40 images that speak to the possibility of finding refuge during turbulent times. Soth said about the exhibit, "How should the photography world respond to the times in which we live? With this exhibition, I want to take a break from the fractious public square of photography and wander quietly into people’s homes. Behind these doors I hope to find a sliver of solace in these unstable times."

Comprising portraiture, still life, and reportage chosen from galleries exhibiting at the Show, what connects these pictures is a quality of intimacy. On view will be works by Diane Arbus, Harry Callahan, Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Danny Lyon, Rene Magritte, Sally Mann, Robert Mapplethorpe, Joel Meyerowitz, Bill Owens, James Van Der Zee, and more.
